Vermoedelijk ontstond in de 17de eeuw uit de boerenhofstede de 'Blaauwe Camer', die al in de 15de eeuw werd vermeld, de buitenplaats Marlot. In 1640 werd de 'Blaauwe Camer' eigendom van David de Marlot, die zijn naam aan het buiten heeft gegeven.
